Installation:

Download the plugin, unpack it and upload the ‘instagram-widget-gallery‘ folder to your wp-content/plugins directory.
Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
On the widgets panel, drag the Instagram Widget Gallery onto one of your sidebars and configure its specific settings.
If you need to adjust some CSS to suite your theme layout, go to Settings->Instagram Gallery Widget page and change the inner stylesheet.
IMPORTANT: Go to this page and enter one of your instagram generated urls in the instagr.am permalink field, then press “Lookup”. You should see your profile gallery.
You’re done. Enjoy.

The Instagram Gallery Widget comes with a specific CSS editor to adjust every element according to your theme settings. Check the documentation online.

ok, i’ll replicate this issue on my local enviroment. I’ll be checking what’s going wrong. At first sight it seems something related to the account rather than the widget itself.. i’ll let you know soon.

Ok i’ve found the trick. You have to upload your profile picture on Instagr.am application. then it should work. I know this is not a good behaviour, but the IGW plugin tries not to use the official API to ensure a quick and fast configuration. Anyway i’ll put a fix soon.

Luca! Thanks a lot for sharing this great stuff – it works fine for me! Btw. I realized, that a max number of 32 images can be show, no more pictures. I checked out several options, several streams – no success. Have you a idea to get a stream with more than 100 pictures?

It depends on where your website is installed. Ususally, after you’ve logged on with your ftp client, you should see the root of your site. There you’ll find the wp-content/plugins directory.

Well, it seems like you haven’t uploaded your website by your own:)
Anyway, avoiding to be quite technical, on the left column click on Plugin, then click on “Intall New”. There, put in the search field the name “Instagram Gallery Widget”. This is an automatic procedure to correctly install the plugin without using “technical stuff”

Well, it seems like you have a special theme applied to your administration panel. Try to put this address in your browser: your-site-url/wp-admin/plugins.php

Hi Kelly, simply remove the “float: left;” rule from the “a.igw_thumblink” selector. You can find it inside the widget stylesheet in the option panel

Hi Kaiyi, thanx. I think there might be a conflict with another plugin using fancybox, or something within your theme. Try to deactivate some potential plugin or paste here your url, i’ll try to figure out what is going wrong.

Thanks again. Fancybox isn’t working because it appears not to be installed. This is strange so i think there is some other running plugin which is actually deactivating fancybox. Or maybe inside your theme’s function.php file you can look for something about fancybox. It’s there somewhere

It’s the url generated when you publish your photo on twitter or facebook.

You have to put a profile picture on Instagr.am. After that, the widget shoudl work.

Angelica, in order for the plugin to work, CURL libraries must be enabled on the Server hosting your website, as specified in the plugin requirements. Without these libraries enabled, the plugin won’t work.

Please contact your hosting provider and check for this requirements.
CURL libraries are a part of the PHP bundle.
P.S: i think you have some domain configuration panel, you can check there even.

I’m finding similar issues to those below. Perhaps there have been some recent changes to the Instagram API?

FYI – I’ve checked and have the latest version of WP, cURL libraries are enabled and don’t believe there’s any conflict with other plugins!

What I’ve found is that when I use the example url given in the WP notes – (http://instagr.am/p/FuCsj/) – then everything works ok, and the pictures display. However, using any other users’ link doesn’t work (regardless of whether they have a profile picture set or not).Anyway, hope that’s of some help to you!S

Pat, that is an URL generated by instagram each time you share one of your photos on Facebook or Twitter. As you do this, your photo is available on an Instagr.am url. Copy that and paste it into the widget panel.

Hello, to get your Instagr.am URL, you have to publish a photo on Instagr.am and share it on Facebook or Twitter. Then, the generated URL will be the one you’re gonna use for the IGW plugin.

Finally was able to dig 10 layers into the Instagr.am app and find it. Here it is http://images.instagram.com/profiles/profile_10807347_75sq_1318425036.jpg

For those in the same boat as me, please note that it is not in “Edit Profile”.. it would be nice if it was, but instead it is under “Profile” botom right option on app’s main menu, then scroll all the way to bottom.. voila.

Well Michael, i’ll try to explain it briefly:

This plugin doesn’t make use of the instagr.am API in a direct mode. This because i wanted to provide an easy access to the instagr.am images feed without having a very annoying authorizing process through the plugin activation. So IGW relies on an external Web application which has a built-in API access. Unfortunally, it seems (but only recently) that some account must be manually activated via a special url. That’s why sometimes i make your accounts work. Please be patient, ’cause i’m trying to develop another easy way to make this plugin work without all these issues.

Hi Luca, I’ve been using this widget for some time now with no problems and I’ve loved it! However, in the last 2 days, I’ve noticed that it has stopped working. Hey Luca,

The widget looks awesome and I’m excited to use it. However, I’m running into what seems to be “the” common problem. I’ll either put the widget in a sidebar, or shortcut it in a page and either way, I only see my title…no pictures whatsoever. I’ve tried multiple url’s. I really don’t know what else it could be. Your test url works as well.
